Mischtechnik courses with international, UK based artist Daniel Mirante, assisted at times by Katia Honour and Kuba Fiedorowicz.
This 6 day course is $495, separated into one weekend “Foundation” intensive, followed by a series of “Deepening” intimate practical studios.

• Creating and exploring egg tempera (includes how to make)
• Brush strokes and basic palette of pigments used in Mischtechnik

DEEPENING Studio Sessions – $245
1.30pm – 9pm, Sundays 4th March, 11th March, 18th March with Daniel Mirante
plus 1.30pm – 6.30pm 25th March studio hosted by Katia Honour and Kuba Fiedorowicz and may evolve into an end of course exhibition if artists wish to share their work on High St Northcote.
Artistic council and one-to-one assistance for development of style or technical approach with great sensitivity to each unique artist, their motivations and aspirations. Offer individual care to enhance composition, theme & dramatic element, symbolism and painting style.
• Developing layers of tempera and glaze
• Light trance and inspirational states
• New and classic painting secrets to create effects, luminosity, crystals, gems, rocks, rays, trees, texture, evocative imagery (Venosa methods)
• Exploring motifs of Visionary and Sacred Art – Exploring the Lineage (Ernst Fuchs, Venosa, Giger etc)
• Pigment qualities, varnishing, colour mixing, information on recent analysis of old master paintings and tricks.

DESIGN: The course focuses on techniques to add to your own visions. Please bring a your design with any relevant reference material, sketches, digital images, ‘mock up’, etc.
CANVAS: 30x40cm boards will be available for those who wish to have an easily transported, stable surface to paint on. If you are choosing a canvas for your surface, please consider that mischtechnik’s complex layers are best done upon a fine weave and at a small to medium size.
MATERIALS: Comprehensive details of the required and recommended materials for mischtechnik are provided online in the workshop participant’s area. Easels, tempera & glaze medium will be available and bringing one’s own familiar brushes, especially the soft fine brushes, easels, palettes, paints etc is always welcomed.
